DENVER, COLORADO– Inspired by Colorado Ballet’s 2020 Peter Pan production, From the Pages of Peter Pan exhibits artwork by CU Denver College of Arts & Media Visual Arts students and the Denver youth of Arts Street on display at the Next Stage Gallery located in the Denver Performing Arts Complex. Just a few steps away from the ballet Peter Pan at the Ellie Caulkins Opera House, the free exhibition takes downtown visitors through brilliant interpretations of the story about the "boy who wouldn't grow up.”

Tunnel books, vignettes, augmented reality posters, behind-the-scenes virtual reality—and even a life-sized animatronic crocodile—take viewers into the world of the Lost Boys and Captain Hook.

CU Denver Visual Arts students studying motion design, illustration, spatial thinking, and 3D design bring advanced artistry and technology to the interpretations. Thanks to a partnership with Colorado Ballet, virtual reality transports the rehearsals and behind-the-scenes of the ballet to the Next Stage Gallery.

Arts Street youth artists from Colorado High School Charter and its after-school internship program have spent months working on larger than life interpretations that will delight and capture the imagination of all ages, just like the timeless story itself. Arts Street uses the power of the creative arts to empower underserved youth to pursue future education and employment opportunities.
