Department Tours are a great way to see the professional facilities that CAM students are learning in everyday. The tours are led by a department staff or faculty member who can also answer prospective student questions. We offer tours of our music facilities and our digital animation/digital design facilities on the first and third Fridays of most months from 1:00-2:00 pm. We offer tours of our film facilities on the second and fourth Fridays of most months from 1:00-2:00 pm. Department Tours can be paired with a CU Denver campus tour (offered every day at 2:00 pm and also on Mondays and Fridays at 10:00 am).
For other areas of visual arts (photography, sculpture, painting & drawing, illustration, art history) please contact us to set up a tour. Please contact Dave Walter, CAM's Director of Enrollment Management at 303-315-7487 or email@example.com.
Preview Days are designed for serious prospective students who want in depth information about CU Denver, as well as program specific information. Attendees get to attend many breakout sessions about CU Denver and the College of Arts & Media (CAM). Visitors will get to meet CAM students, staff, and faculty members. Attendees also have the option to take a campus tour and/or CAM department tour as part of Preview Day. Preview Day events are well suited for high school juniors and seniors, as well as transfer students.
Register for one of the Fall 2019 Preview Days on the Admissions Office website here. The dates are:
While the December 6th Preview Day is just for College of Arts & Media prospective students, any of these Preview Day events would be great for prospective CAM students. We hope that you are able to join us for a Preview Day!
The Visual Arts Department hosts a Portfolio Review Day once each semester. While we don't require a portfolio from applicants, this event allows students to show their work to a faculty member and get feedback. This provides connections and helps both the faculty and the student know if our program is a good fit for the student. This event is ideal for all prospective visual arts students who are high school juniors/seniors or transfer students.
This fall we will be doing our Portfolio Review Day as part of the College of Arts & Media Preview Day on Friday, December 6th. Students can register for this event here.
The Music & Entertainment Industry Studies Department will offer MEIS Open House events on each of the 2019-20 academic year live audition dates:
This event is for all prospective music students. Each Open House features a MEIS Department overview, a student panel, sitting in on a MEIS General Recital class, lunch with the faculty, and a department tour. We allow lots of time for students and parents to ask questions!
The MEIS Open Houses start at 9:00 am and go until 2:00 pm. Attendees can also register for the 2:00-3:30 campus tour if they'd like. You must register separately for a campus tour here. Attendees can also stop by Campus Village anytime between 2:00-5:00 pm to view our CU Denver residence halls.
