LYNX Camp Guest Artists

We host exciting guest artists for our two week camp programs. Guest artists inspire the students and help them learn about different career paths in the arts. The guest artist presentations usually take place during the camp evenings from 6:30-8:00pm. Below is information about our 2023 camp guest artists and the guest artists from previous years.

The Residential and Commuter Plus campers will attend the 'Mamma Mia' Film on the Rocks screening at Red Rocks Amphitheater on July 24th, 2023.

The Residential and Commuter Plus campers will visit the Denver Art Museum and the Denver Museum of Contemporary Art during the middle weekend of the camp.

The Visual Immersive Art Program campers will visit Meow Wolf on the first Monday of the camp. 

 

 

 

2022 LYNX Camp Guest Artists

Music Industry Program

N3ptune - LYNX Camp alum and rising Denver music star. Recently played a sold out headline concert at Globe Hall and will go on his first national tour with Sleigh Bells this fall. 

Cate Downey - LYNX Camp alum and Denver singer/songwriter. Cate is doing big things in L.A. and has a publishing deal with Artist Publishing Group. She wrote "Wish It Was You" in 2020 which was produced by Audien. The song hit #1 on the dance charts in December, 2021.

Wildermiss - One of Denver's top indie rock bands featuring two CU Denver music alumni. They have toured nationally with The Oh Hellos, Bronze Radio Return, and most recently with Yoke Lore. This will be Wildermiss's third guest artist appearance at the LYNX Camps and they are always a student favorite! 

Jaz Valencia - Jaz is a highly successful music marketer and publicist. She is the founder and president of JV Agency. Prior to starting her own company, Jaz was Director of Digital Marketing for Island Records/Universal Music Group. She has worked with artists such as Bon Jovi, The Killers, Fall Out Boy, Avicii, American Authors, Neon Trees, and Shawn Mendes.

Decadon - One of the top up and coming EDM/Bass artists in the country. Decadon will be visiting the camp on Monday, June 20th, the day after he performs at Red Rocks Amphitheater. Decadon (Donnie Miller) is an alum of CU Denver's MEIS Department.

Music Industry Program

Brent Cowles - Brent is a Colorado based singer/songwriter. After achieving national success with his band You Me & Apollo, he launched a solo career in 2014. He is signed to Dine Alone Records and his debut album "How to be Okay Alone" was released in 2018. NPR Music named Brent one of their favorite up-and-coming artists of 2018.

Bridget Law and Tierro Lee - Bridget is a strings (violin/fiddle) musician who is one of the founding members of the sensational folk/bluegrass band Elephant Revival. Recently she's been performing on her own and with her partner Tierro Lee's band. Bridget also helps to produce music festivals. She is a CU Denver alum. Tierro Lee is the founder/producer of the ARISE Music Festival. Tierro performs with his group the Tierro Lee Band.

Luke Mossman - Guitarist for Nathaniel Rateliff & The Night Sweats. This Denver band that has become a world-touring favorite with hit songs like S.O.B.Hey MamaYou Worry Me, and I Need Never Get Old. Luke is a CU Denver alum.

Such - Such is a Denver based soul/R&B vocalist. Her song Sugar Maple reached #1 on the U.K. Soul Chart. In 2016, she became the first and only Black American woman to win an All African Music Award (AFRIMA), continental Africa’s equivalent of a Grammy. She also placed in the top 60 of American Idol, Season 11. Such is also an actress. Check out Such's website here

Chloe Tang - Los Angeles based R&B and Pop singer. Her music has recently been featured on some of the top Spotify playlists and she opened for Dua Lipa in a sold out concert last December. Chloe is an alum of the CU Denver Singer/Songwriter Program. Check out Chloe's website here.

Wildermiss - One of Denver's hottest new bands! They won KTCL's 2017 Hometown for the Holidays competition and in 2018 were named the best up-and-coming band in Denver by 303 Magazine​. Three of the band members are CU Denver alumni. They will put on a concert and answer student questions. Visit Wildermiss's website to learn more.

 

Filmmaking and Digital Animation/Motion Graphics

Joshua Blair​ - Motion graphics artist at TEGNA Media. Josh recently won a Heartland Emmy Award for his Motion Graphics work. Josh is a CU Denver alum. Check out Joshua's website here.​

Laurel and Tom Dibble - Independent filmmakers based in Denver. Both are MFA graduates of USC's School of Cinematic Arts. Tom's 2015 Movie Highly Functional stars Bruce Campbell and he has also published a novel. Laurel has worked at Sony and for the TV show CSI: Crime Scene Investigation. 

Jeff Gipson - Animator for Disney (Frozen, Big Hero 6, Zootopia, Moana, Ralph Breaks the Internet). Jeff recently directed Disney's first VR short film, Cycles. Kent Harvey - Denver based cinematographer and camera operator (Ant-Man, Avengers: Infinity War and Endgame, Our Souls at Night, Jungle Cruise, Captain America, Everest, Guardians of the Galaxy, Surviver). Learn more about Kent's film work on his IMDB page here

Eric Jewett - LA/Denver based filmmaker (Dexter, Weeds, Code Black, CSI, True Detective, 300: Rise of an Empire, Team America, Big Love, Party of Five, Christmas Vacation). Eric is a CU Denver faculty member. Check out Eric's IMDB page to learn more about his film work. 

Ed Kramer - Animator/CGI Effects Artist who is now based in Denver. Ed was a pioneer in the CGI industry and was one of the early employees of Industrial Light & Magic. He has worked on numerous Hollywood films such as Clear and Present Danger, The Mummy, Jumanji, Twister, Galaxy Quest, Star Wars Episode I, II, and III, and Pirates of the Caribbean 2: Dead Man's Chest.

Sarah Moshman - Los Angeles based filmmaker. Sarah started in the film industry working on reality shows like Dancing with the Stars and Top Chef. More recently Sarah has been making her own films such as Losing Sight of Shore, The Empowerment Project, Growing Up Strong: Girls on the Run. Her newest film NEVERTHELESS will be released soon. Taylor Schulze and James Dator-Frigon - Two of the top recent graduates of CU Denver's Digital Animation Program. Both are currently working in Denver creating legal/medical animation for High Impact. Taylor was a Pixar intern during the summer of 2018. 

Ivar Zeile - Denver based animator. Ivar is the Founder and Director of the SuperNova Digital Motion Art Festival. He also directs the Denver Digerati and the Plus Gallery Contemporary Art.

Music Industry Program

Kim Dawson​ - Singer for the bands Pimps of Joytime and Sisters of Soul. Kim has performed with Grammy award winners, Rock and Roll Hall of Fame inductees, and was featured on NBC's The Sing-Off in 2011.

Adam Hawley - Chart topping jazz guitarist with three Billboard #1 singles. Adam has a doctorate in music from the USC Thornton School of Music. Visit Adam Hawley's website.

Break Science - EDM Group featuring Adam Deitch and Borahm Lee. Adam has played and toured with artists such as Lettuce, Pretty Lights, and DJ Quik. He's produced music for 50 Cent, Redman, Talib Kweli, and Xhibit. Borahm has played and toured with artists such as Pretty Lights, Lauryn Hill, Kanye West, and Matisyahu. They will perform and answer student questions. Olivia Rudeen - Nashville based singer/songwriter signed to Deluge Music. CU Denver alum. Recent song "As the Crow Flies" was performed on the CMT show Nashville. Visit Olivia Rudeen's website.

Isaac Slade​ - Lead singer of The Fray. The Fray has been one of the top rock bands in America since 2005 when they released chart topping songs such as "How to Save a Life" and "Over My Head (Cable Car)". Isaac is an alumni of CU Denver's Music & Entertainment Industry Studies Department. Aaron Kopp - Award winning cinematographer and filmmaker. He was the cinematographer for the the Oscar award winning documentary Saving Face and also worked on The Hunting Ground.
