Purpose The College of Arts & Media has a scholarship opportunity for current CAM students planning to be enrolled for the Spring 2026 semester. Students who are currently enrolled in courses at CU Denver, who are first generation students, and pursuing an undergraduate degree with the College of Arts & Media are encouraged to apply.

Purpose The Deborah and Larry Melnick Scholarship benefits undergraduate students enrolled in the College of Arts & Media at the University of Colorado Denver. Preference will be given to students in a Fine Arts program. If selected for this award you may be required to submit a letter of appreciation to the donor.

Film & Television Scholarships
Purpose The Film & Television Scholarship Fund exists to provide scholarship support for students enrolled in the Film & Television Department in the College of Arts & Media at the University of Colorado Denver.

Purpose Joel Michael McCormick passed away in August 2003 due to complications from an operation to remove a brain tumor. At just 22 years old, Joel was an accomplished filmmaker, having established Pow Pow Productions with his family while still in high school. He produced Unknown, a ski film in 2000, and worked with a production company based in Vail, CO to produce free-skiing programs, Evolve and Signature Series, for SkiTV and Fox Sports. Friends and colleagues remembered Joel as the guy behind the scenes, trying to change skiingscheesyimage on network television. Joel was a full-time student at the University of Colorado Denver at the time of his passing. He is remembered fondly by family and friends, as well as his colleagues in the film and ski communities. The Joel Michael McCormick Memorial Scholarship honors Joels memory and supports students in the Film and Television Department at CU Denvers College of Arts & Media.

Music Entertainment & Industry Studies Scholarships
Purpose The Tashiro Endowed A Cappella Scholarship is intended to provide scholarships to students enrolled as Music majors, who commit to sing in either Lark or 9th Street Singers for at least the full academic year they are awarded the scholarship.

Purpose The Mike Barney Memorial Scholarship Fund provides scholarships in the College of Arts & Media to students pursuing a BS in Music in the Recording Arts in memory of Mike Barney. The award will be $2,000 divided equally between fall and spring semesters. To be eligible to apply students must have completed a minimum of 60 credit hours and have a minimum of a 3.0 GPA.
