What fun activities do you like to do in Colorado?
Arts and culture, hiking, marveling at our incredible climate.

What area of CAM (film, music, or visual arts) do you enjoy and why?
All of them! I have a background in each area which is why I feel so at home here in CAM.

What is one fun fact about you, and what is one boring fact about you?
I am bilingual (French) and can stumble through several additional languages. I am an only child.

What is one experience on campus that you recommend all CAM students try?
The Wellness Center! They have so much cool stuff, from the Nap Nook, to the climbing wall, the food pantry, a hot tub, and meditation rooms!

What fun activities do you like to do in Colorado?
If I'm not working or playing music, I'm probably in the mountains. I love hiking, biking, skiing, and camping.

What area of CAM (film, music, or visual arts) do you enjoy and why?
As a musician, I'm very impressed by CAM's music programs. I think it's great that CAM offers contemporary curriculum focused on today's music industry, while allowing students to decide how rigorous they want their musical experience to be through the choice of an audition track or non-audition track (in some of the programs).

What is one fun fact about you, and what is one boring fact about you?
My fun fact is that I play in two bands: Pink Hawks (an eclectic variety of styles that we call Afro-Chicano beat) and Roka Hueka (fun, dance-y Latin Ska with mostly Spanish lyrics and a lot of Cumbia and Punk influence). My main instrument is trombone, but I also play percussion and I sing. We play in and around Denver, but we also tour out of state occasionally. In the last few years, we've played shows all over Colorado, as well as California, New Mexico, Texas, Nebraska, Utah, and Illinois.

My boring fact is that I enjoy small home improvement projects and bike maintenance. Last year, I learned how to resurface and refinish hardwood floors at a friend's house (this is a great skill to learn at someone else's house rather than your own).

What is one experience on campus that you recommend all CAM students try?
I'd recommend for all students to get engaged on campus by joining a club and/or attending campus events consistently. These clubs or events could be related to your major, or not. Your academics and your degree are important, but it's also incredibly important to get involved and find your 'scene.' This  is a good way to make and keep friends, and it can have a huge impact on your overall university experience.

What fun activities do you like to do in Colorado?
There are so many amazing things to do in Colorado!  I enjoy getting outdoors whenever I can, be it for a hike in the foothills or a more arduous climb up some of the taller mountains  further afield.  Every season here is uniquely stunning, from the fall colors to the winter snowscapes, the spring blooms to the endless summer days.  Try to get outside!

What area of CAM (film, music, or visual arts) do you enjoy and why?I love all of CAM! Each department and major offers something unique and allows students to showcase amazing talent, so I can't choose just one area.  The collective creativity and passion makes CAM a great place to work.

What is one fun fact about you, and what is one boring fact about you?
Boring fact: I really like popcorn.
Fun fact: I've been to all seven continents!

What is one experience on campus that you recommend all CAM students try?Join a student organization!  This is the best way for you to meet new people, learn new skills, and discover new interests.  Whether you join a group related to your major or something entirely different, you'll find a supportive network of fellow students, faculty, and staff to help you along your academic journey.

What fun activities do you like to do in Colorado?
I love Denver's music scene; there are so many different music venues to experience and it's fun to listen to up and coming musicians.

What area of CAM (film, music, or visual arts) do you enjoy and why?
All of them are equally wonderful but I have a special place in my hear for the Visual Arts department. One of my favorite events to attend is the BFA Thesis Show at Redline Contemporary Art Center at the end of the year. It's such a great way to celebrate all of our Visual Arts graduates from all of the degree programs, meet their families, and see the amazing artwork the students have created in their final year at CU Denver.

What is one fun fact about you, and what is one boring fact about you?
My fun fact is that I am an avid tabletop roleplaying game (Dungeons & Dragons and Pathfinder) player and I've got over 400+ hours logged in Stardew Valley. My boring fact is that I'm a Millennial.

What is one experience on campus that you recommend all CAM students try?
Block Party at the beginning of the Fall semester is so much fun! Lots of great food, events, and music. I would also recommend attending one of the Iron Pour hosted by our Art Practices faculty members during the Spring semester.

What fun activities do you like to do in Colorado?
I enjoy hiking and riding my bike.

What area of CAM (film, music, or visual arts) do you enjoy and why?
Visual Arts! I graduated from the Digital Design program in 2023 and have an interest in how design and operations can be made more human centered. Everything we interact with was made by someone for someone else to use.

What is one fun fact about you, and what is one boring fact about you?
I have a few pet tarantulas, and I love to knit.

What is one experience on campus that you recommend all CAM students try?
I recommend all CAM students stop by the Emmanuel Art Gallery when they are on campus. They periodically change the artwork being shown and will often work with students, faculty, and alumni to showcase their work!
