Creative Spaces
The Comcast Media and Technology Center (CMTC) is a transdisciplinary center for innovation. The Center fosters an environment in which students and researchers generate, develop and activate culturally focused, action-oriented education, research, commercial enterprises and community services. As a partnership between University of Colorado Denver’s College of Arts & Media (CAM) and College of Engineering and Applied Science (CEAS), CMTC originated from a generous gift from Comcast inspired by their commitment to developing a versatile workforce fully prepared to solve interdisciplinary challenges.
The CU Denver Digital Animation Center (DAC) is a state-of-the-art, collaborative space that is home the 3D & Graphics Animations program. At the DAC we train students in industry standard 3D software such as Maya, ZBrush, and Houdini. The DAC labs are equipped with over 100 workstations and a dedicated render farm with a combined total of over 4300 cores as well as a large volume Vicon motion capture system.
