Storm Gloor and Students Join Amplify Music Conference to Support and Grow the Music Community
Amplify Music asks how can we learn from other local communities creating resilience in the music social/structural disruption/reconstruction under COVID-19?

Storm Gloor, CAM Music & Entertainment Industry Studies faculty, City Councilman, and creative community activist, is co-leading the Amplify Music 2021 Conference. The free conference brings together diverse music leaders and creators online to learn and share from local community response, emergent solutions, and heroic efforts to support local artists, venues, creative communities, and support networks in the surge/challenges of the COVID-19.
Gloor, who joins Gigi Johnson of the Herb Albert School of Music at UCLA in co-leading the conference, is also bringing along a team of CAM students and alumni as panel guests and guests. Senior Edwina Maben, alum Michelle Rocquet, and CAM faculty Chris Zacher will serve on panels as industry experts. Emma Nuttall and Jake Jedamus-Denu from Gloor's ground-braking Music Cities class, are a part of the virtual conference production team.
The Amplify Music Conference runs virtually Wednesday, April 21– Friday, April 23, 2021.

About Amplify Music 2020
These events spring from our virtual gathering in early 2020, at the early stages of the pandemic around the world. In April 2020, we put together a virtual conference with more than 90 speakers from more than 30 organizations from more than 20 countries to explore the early stages of resilience happening in local music around the world. 39 sessions of speakers explored 11 themes -- videos and information on these sessions can be explored at AmplifyMusic.org. Intriguing ideas and new organizations were shared and building blocks and collaborations for 2021 - gathering current information and planning for what we need to share and collaborate around for 2021.
