Lorne Bregitzer

Associate Professor
  • Music and Entertainment Studies (CAM)

Lorne developed an interest in electronic music at an early age, with his first synthesizer at age 15. From there he went on to attend Berklee College of Music to study music synthesis. He additionally added Music Production & Engineering as a dual major, so he could have a day job. That became his regular job for the next 15 years. He went on to attend the MSRA program at CU Denver, and then became a full-time faculty member.

He spent years working at Colorado Sound Studios in Westminster. While there, he recorded artists like Eminem, NSYNC, TV on the Radio, Yonder Mountain String Band, Blues Traveler, Styx, Method Man, Redman, Henry Rollins, and many others. He wound up receiving a platinum record for D’Angelo’s “Voodoo”, which won the Grammy for best R&B record.

His expertise in electronic music production led him to become one of the rare and prestigious Ableton Certified Trainers, of which there is only approximately 300 worldwide. Through his work with Ableton Live and analog and digital synthesizers, he explores a whole range of electronic music topics, including: Sound Design, Generative Music, Video Controlled by Audio, and anything he or his students are interested in.
