Plan Your Graduation

FALL (DECEMBER) GRADUATES

 

MARCH - AUGUST (PRIOR TO FINAL SEMESTER)

  • Fill out application for graduation via UCDAccess portal, due by 5pm on the Census Date (typically late August)

  • Meet with CAM advisor to check academic progress and final schedules

 

AUGUST (FINAL SEMESTER)

  • Check schedule on UCDAccess to be sure all classes are listed ( status must indicate "enrolled"). Confirm with CAM advisor that graduation application has been received.

SEPTEMBER

  • You will receive an email from the CAM Advising Office about your graduation status ( either "OK pending grades" or "requirements not fulfilled"}. Contact CAM Advising Office if you do not get this email by November 15.

DECEMBER

  • The College of Arts & Media conducts exit surveys with graduating students. These surveys are designed to gather the strengths and weaknesses of the college, the curricula, the facilities, the faculty, and the staff. For the student's convenience, exit surveys are emailed to the University assigned email address.

COMMENCEMENT

  • Cap & gown rentals and ordering are done online. Students who fill out a graduation application will receive an email with details to their University assigned email.
  • If you want to order rings and/or announcements, there will be links to vendors through cap and gown ordering.
  • Cap & gown pick up is Friday before the ceremony at 1 - 7pm in Tivoli Turnhalle. Please bring your receipt.
  • If you have any questions about the ceremony itself, like parking, access for persons with disabilities, or etc., visit the CU Denver Commencement page.
  • CAM advisors will be at Commencement to check in graduates. Students will check in at the Events center. Plan to get there no later than 8am. Advisors will provide information that morning about ceremony details.
  • For students graduating with honors (cumulative GPA of 3.650 or above): advisors will bring honor cords to the ceremony. Don't worry about picking them up in advance, although they will be available a week before the ceremony in ARTS 177.
  • After the ceremony, there's a reception with live music and refreshments. All friends and family are welcome.

JANUARY (AFTER FINALS AND COMMENCEMENT)

  • Advisors confirm graduates and send names to the Regents during January and early February, once final grades are posted. Students will be sent an email to their University email if there is a problem.

  • Diploma is mailed to the address submitted on the graduation application.

 

 

SPRING (MAY) GRADUATES

 

NOVEMBER– JANUARY (PRIOR TO FINAL SEMESTER)

  • Fill out application for graduation via UCDAccess portal, due by 5pm on the Census Date (typically late January).

  • Meet with CAM advisor to check academic progress and final schedules. There is no Summer Commencement ceremony. Instead, Summer graduates are invited to walk in the Fall Commencement (December) ceremony.
