Daniel Finnegan

Dan has been working in the Visual Effects industry since 2012, producing FX simulations for feature films and television at studios like Industrial Light & Magic, DNEG, Method Studios, Luma Pictures, and Sony Pictures Imageworks. He has worked on projects like the Star Wars sequel trilogy, The Mandalorian, several Marvel films, and the 2021 Best Visual Effects Oscar Winner, Dune. In 2018 he was part of the FX team nominated for the "Outstanding Effects Simulation in a Photoreal feature" VES award, for their work on the "Mega destroyer destruction" sequence in Star Wars: Episode VIII: The Last Jedi.

In addition to teaching dynamic simulation at the DAC, Dan is currently working as an FX Supervisor at DNEG, where he led the FX team on Disney's upcoming Haunted Mansion, and will be supervising the FX on the upcoming Dune: Part Two.
