Art, Food, Masonry Studios and more Food! 5/30
Ryan Cuscaden May 30, 2019Today we did batik painting in the morning, which is an art practice that utilizes wax on fabric to create designs in the fabric that you can then paint. It was super hard to create and keeping your hand steady while pouring the wax was super difficult, but overall was an amazing experience, and would love to do it again.
After Batik painting we went and got food. I got a great plate of chicken fried rice and I loved it. After eating with Karsten and Rachel, we went to go find a way to Masonry Studios. We ended up taking a bus the wrong way then had to find a way back and take the right bus while it was raining the whole time. We did end up making it so lessons learned and we got to see more stuff.
Masonry studios was by far the coolest place we visited. They do advertisements and VFX work (they also had a cat). They also gave great advice about how to get internships and jobs out of college and also how to value yourself as an artist. Definitely learned the most from Masonry.
After Masonry Studios Nueka, Gillian, Rachel, Karsten, Lynn, Hawreen and myself went out to Korean BBQ. What a great way to end the day and wow was it amazing! After we ate we all went back to the hotel swam at the pool for a little then went to bed. It was a fantastic day!
