Re: Dean’s Message
This is the second message in several days—things are moving forward on many levels.
1. There are several personnel changes in the departments and college offices:
a) Scott Burgess’s last day will be June 8th. Scott has served MEIS, CAM, and CU Denver in numerous capacities. His extensive background provided optimal support and collaboration, for our faculty and students in Recording Arts (CAM’s largest enrolled program).
b) Christie Chambers has accepted a position with the non-profit Youth on Record. CC has worked in several capacities in CAM and MEIS.
c) Diccon Conant, from the CAM Advising Office, has shifted to a similar position in the School of Business. Diccon is known across the campus as someone who is not only seasoned and skilled but tireless in his efforts to support students.
d) Jaime Garcia has tendered her resignation as our CAM Director of Development. Her last day will be Friday, June 10th. While we are sad to see her go, we are thrilled for her next opportunity to join Headstrong as their Chief Development Officer. Please join me in congratulating Jaime and wishing her well on this next step in her career. While we navigate this transition, our Advancement team remains poised to support CAM. Please contact advancement@ucdenver.edu with any Advancement needs and they will connect you with the appropriate person.
2. Governor Polis signed HB22-1408 Modify Performance-based Incentive For Film Production. This is very significant for the film community in Colorado, and the invitation that I received (to attend the signing) reflects positively on the positioning of the College of Arts & Media—as an essential partner in building the film, television, video, and media industries in Colorado.
3. Here is the search timeline for the Director of the proposed Video Game Art and Design program:
