Below you will find the recommended course sequence for students enrolled in the BFA Digital Design program. The design program is a Fall entry program, with each course offered once per year in a tightly sequenced program to ensure professional development and a sustained career in the design field. Students must submit a portfolio that includes work with FINE 2415 Typography and FINE 2405 Introduction to Digital Design before moving on to the upper division courses.

Transfer students may choose to apply for an accelerated program (in the tab above) that collapses the Junior and Senior year into a single year. This can allow you to complete the program a year earlier than otherwise.
To apply, consult with Digital Design faculty and your CAM advisor before April 1st of your Sophomore year and prior to starting your Junior year. When you apply, you will be required to submit the following materials and information:
Once accepted as an accelerated graduate, you can reference the Accelerated Curriculum map (in the tab above). Accelerated program students have the option to substitute ARTS 4939 – Internship in a design position for FINE 4400 – Design Studio III with the approval of design faculty. Consult with faculty and your CAM advisor to decide if this is a good option for you and for details.
Note: the accelerated option is only for the Junior/Senior year, prior to that the courses are sequenced (Motion 1, 2, Interactive 1,2, Design Studio 1,2) and build off each other. There is no option to combine semesters prior to your Junior year.
