Jake Sabot is a full time high school teacher and part time lecturer at CU Denver. He teaches both film production and film analysis at the high school level. At CU Denver, he teaches the History of Horror in Western Culture and Cinema course. He earned his bachelor's degree at Humboldt State University in California, majoring in Interdisciplinary Studies. While at Humboldt State he studied Spanish, Teaching English as a Second Language, and Native American Studies. He moved to Colorado in 2000 after completing his Bachelor's degree and teaching first at the middle school level and then, after three short years, moved to Mountain Vista High School where he still teaches today. During his tenure at the high school Jake has taught English, Spanish, Engineering, Guitar, Film Analysis, and a variety of Film Production courses. Looking to further his studies, he attended CU Denver to attain his Master's Degree in Humanities where he focused on Film Studies. Since 2016 he has been fortunate enough to teach the History of Horror in Western Culture in Cinema class here at CU Denver.
