CU Denver Named Top Music Business School by Billboard for Fifth Year in a Row

The recognition highlights CU Denver’s ongoing commitment to preparing students for impactful careers in the evolving music industry. Music Business offered through the Music & Entertainment Industry Studies (MEIS) department, equips students with real-world insights and access to extensive industry networks, ensuring they are ready to make their mark in music both locally and globally.
CU Denver's Music Business curriculum provides students with essential skills and modern industry expertise. The popular "Music Business in the Digital Age" course, covers key topics such as AI, data analysis, privacy, and advancements in live-music ticketing technology. MEIS also offers a Music Cities course, where students engage online with industry leaders from major music markets, including Australia, Canada, Japan, the UK, and top U.S. hubs like Nashville, Los Angeles, Austin, and Seattle.
Dan Hodges, chair of MEIS and a seasoned music industry professional, credits CU Denver’s faculty and resources for the program’s continued success. “Our world-class faculty use their experience and active industry relationships to keep CU Denver at the forefront of music business education,” said Hodges. “We’re committed to preparing students for sustainable, successful careers in this rapidly changing field.”
The CAM also hosts one of the first student chapters of the Nashville Songwriters Association International, providing networking and development opportunities for aspiring music professionals. Through faculty connections, students gain access to invaluable internships and job openings, making CU Denver’s Music Business program a springboard into the industry.
