Erin Hauger Named Visual Arts Chair
Erin Hauger, Professor of Music Performance, has been appointed as the new Chair of the Visual Arts Department. Hauger’s exceptional history of leadership, unwavering commitment to students, and proven ability to drive organizational change make her an outstanding choice for this role.
Hauger has led the award-winning CU Denver a cappella group, Lark, across the globe, competing and performing. Under her leadership, performance groups have been recognized for innovation and professionalism, and boundary moving work in collegiate a cappella.
Dean Lucinda Bliss expressed her enthusiasm for this new chapter, stating, “I anticipate a year of rich collaboration on behalf of faculty and students in the visual arts department under Erin's leadership.”
Dan Hodges Named Chair of Music & Entertainment Industry Studies
Dan Hodges, Associate Professor of Music Business, has been named Chair of Music & Entertainment Industry Studies. Professor Hodges' selection for this role reflects his unwavering dedication to our students and his vision for advancing CU Denver’s reputation as a leading destination for studying contemporary music and the commercial music industry.
Since joining the faculty in 2022, Hodges has made significant contributions to the college, most notably bringing the Nashville Songwriter Association International’s first student chapter to the College of Arts & Media. Hodges is also responsible for providing Music & Entertainment Industry Studies students with no-cost capos through a partnership with Kyser Capos. Additionally, he serves as a faculty mentor for the CAM Residential Creative Community. His efforts have provided our students with invaluable opportunities to engage with industry professionals and gain real-world experience, further solidifying our school's standing as a top choice for aspiring music industry professionals.
