David Lukens graduated from the Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts in 2008 with an MFA in Studio Art. In 2005 he received his BFA in Painting and Drawing from the University of Colorado Denver and a BA in Liberal Arts in 1992 from Penn State University.
David began teaching in Philadelphia as a graduate assistant in 2007 and became a lecturer for the College of Arts and Media in 2011. In addition to teaching at CAM he has also taught at the Arvada Center for the Arts and Humanities and the Community College of Aurora.
His work explores varied subjects through drawing, painting and mixed-media and has been shown nationwide in numerous exhibitions including the Brooklyn Art Library, the Rochester Contemporary Art Center and the State Museum of Pennsylvania.
