Lynn Suyeko Mandziuk sees challenges as opportunities and views risk as a reward—a way to learn and grow through discomfort. As a Denver-based multi-disciplinary artist and professor at the University of Colorado Denver, she considers herself a creative problem solver. Lynn holds a BFA and an MFA in Illustration. She believes all creative processes inform and influence each other and has experience across illustration, fine art, graphic and web design, UI/UX, motion graphics, animation, music composition, sound design, acting, writing, marketing, and rock climbing.
With 18 years of experience as a professional designer and illustrator, and seven years as an art professor, Lynn is adept in Design Thinking and creative strategy. She has studied contemporary philosophies such as trauma-informed design, design justice, decolonization in design, and pluriversity. Lynn's tenacity for life drives her passion for adventure, whether abroad, in the mountains, or through experimentation. She embraces "Type 2 fun," viewing failure as an opportunity to perfect her craft.
Active in Denver's art community, Lynn experiments with printmaking, sculpture, and illuminated installations. In her free time, she engages with rock climbing, art, music, and performance communities, striving to break economic barriers in the arts. Lynn is currently pursuing an MSS in Social Justice/Freedom of Expression at the University of Colorado – Denver to better serve her communities.
