Alexander Thomen

Alex Thomen is a composer, producer, and audio educator with extensive experience in curriculum development and university teaching. He holds a Bachelor of Music in Music Composition from Kansas State University and a Master of Music in Commercial Composition and Arranging from Belmont University. His expertise spans a wide range of disciplines, including music production, composition, audio engineering, and audio post-production. Alex has had the opportunity to work alongside world-renowned musicians, such as drummer Keith Carlock (Steely Dan), bass virtuoso Jeff Berlin, saxophonist Jeff Coffin (Dave Matthews Band), and Emmy Award-winning composer Carlos Rafael Rivera (The Queen's Gambit, Godless). 

As an Avid Certified Instructor in Pro Tools and Sibelius, Alex is committed to equipping students with the technical proficiency and practical skills necessary for success in the audio industry. He has had the opportunity to work alongside Avid Technology to develop and update their certification curricula for both Pro Tools and Sibelius.
