Stan Soocher is Professor of Music & Entertainment Industry Studies (MEIS) at the University of Colorado Denver, where he has served as MEIS Department Chair. He is also an entertainment attorney; long-time Editor-in-Chief of the monthly publication Entertainment Law & Finance; multi-recipient of ASCAP Deems Taylor Awards for “Excellence in Music Journalism” for articles in The National Law Journal, Rolling Stone and Musician Magazine; and a recipient of the State Bar of Texas Entertainment and Sports Law Section’s “Texas Star Award.” He has authored the books "Baby You’re a Rich Man: Suing The Beatles for Fun & Profit" and "They Fought the Law: Rock Music Goes to Court", and contributed chapters to "We Didn’t Start the Fire: Billy Joel and Popular Music Studies", and "Tom Waits on Tom Waits: Interviews and Encounters".
