Chris Daniels is an Assistant Professor C/T of Music & Entertainment Industry Studies at the University of Colorado Denver. He has a Master’s Degree from CU Boulder and his undergraduate degree comes from Macalester College and Berklee College of Music. He has a background as a guitar player, songwriter, award winning bandleader; studio musician, commercial singer, record producer, label owner; award winning Executive Director of Swallow Hill Music Association and teacher plus he’s a touring musician doing 50 dates a year. Professor Daniels will release his 20th album "40" on Moon Voyage Records in 2024. He's completed his 21st tour of Europe with his band, Chris Daniels & The Kings with Freddi Gowdy. In 2024 the KINGS celebrate their 40th Anniversary together. Professor Daniels was nominated as a co-writer and featured soloist for a Grammy in 2013 and he was inducted into the Colorado Music Hall of Fame 2013. For the past 10 years he's served as the MC for the Telluride Bluegrass Festival. Professor Daniels was awarded the Excellence in Teaching Award from the College of Arts and Media in 2010 and again in 2018.
