CAM Creative focuses on providing students with a real-world, creative agency experience by connecting them with clients who value giving back through student development.

 

OUR MISSION

CAM Creative is a faculty-led, student-run design studio within the College of Arts & Media at University of Colorado Denver. We work with real clients to create comprehensive, strategy-based creative solutions that achieve business objectives and help the client successfully manage consumer perspectives, brand equity and communication outcomes while also enriching the lives of students. 

INDUSTRY LEADERSHIP

Under the supervision of industry professionals from the deep bench know-how found within the College of Arts & Media creative and design faculty, the select team of student creatives lead client projects with fresh, inspired vision. CAM Creative functions as a cross-disciplinary, professional creative studio/agency with innovative, competitive design services delivered with dedication and precision at a cost-effective price. Although each project has varying objectives and outcomes, the range of work includes and is not limited to brand identity development, collateral development, comprehensive advertising campaigns, film- and motion-based solutions, infographic illustrations, advertising photography, web sites and interactive solutions.

CAM Creative's team of students is competitively chosen each semester using a selection process that requires a review of portfolio and on-site interviews and features students from all major disciplines. Once hired, students can earn credit with an option for paid stipends. Students have the option to repeat the course several times in subsequent semesters. In this course students work in an environment that mirrors a realistic visual communications studio/agency where skills are developed using industry standard customer service techniques, innovative creative development processes and business strategy models that instill skills in leadership, management, collaboration, account servicing and budget responsibility.  

 


APPLY FOR AN INTERNSHIP AT CAM CREATIVE

CAM Creative internships are available for up to 3 hours of academic credit depending on student needs. As an alternative, students can also apply for non-credit. Regardless, each student accepted for employment will be paid a competitive salary. Work schedules are established at the beginning of each semester with a structured class time. Mandatory production meetings are arranged according to staff schedules. In return, interns receive relevant, professional and cross-disciplined agency life experiences with career-based advancement opportunities, building your client-based portfolio, opportunities in developing award-winning collaborative designs, and work in a collaborative, cross-disciplinary team environment.

APPLICATION REQUIREMENTS 

• A cover letter stating your intentions, contact information, major area of study & anticipated graduation date

• Availability to work during paid agency office hours*

• Must be a student within University of Colorado Denver 

• Submit a recent resume

• Submit a recent portfolio of work (for creative positions)

• Interview with CAM Creative

• Intent to register for ARTS 4939

• Application Deadline: December 22, 2019 at Midnight

Review of student academic and professional needs will take place each semester for the upcoming semester. Determination of acceptance as CAM Creative staff is based upon strict adherence to the requirements listed above and review by the CAM Creative Student Selection Committee. The Selection Committee is led by students and includes students, alumni, a CAM staff member and designated interdisciplinary faculty. Consult with your academic adviser for internship eligibility.

*Hours will be determined based upon employee schedules. Final official office hours will be formalized within 3 weeks following final candidate selections.

STEP 2:  Schedule an interview with CAM Creative prior to the beginning of the semester for which you are applying.

STEP 3: Await for your acceptance letter and offer of employment. Once accepted, register for ARTS 4939 Internship.
